Fractus, Samsung Strike Deal In $38M Antenna Patent Row

Law360, New York (April 16, 2014, 7:34 PM EDT) -- Fractus SA and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. told a Texas federal court Tuesday that they had settled a dispute over patents covering cellphone antenna technology that Fractus claimed Samsung had continued to infringe after being ordered to pay $38 million.

The parties filed a joint motion to dismiss the suit in the Eastern District of Texas, saying they had reached a settlement, the terms of which were not disclosed. The move came a few months after the Federal Circuit heard oral arguments in Samsung's appeal and Samsung lost a bid to challenge Fractus' patents under the America Invents Act's inter partes...
