Insurers Cry Foul Over Congoleum's Chapter 11 Plan

Law360, New York (April 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The long-standing battle over Congoleum Corp.'s proposed Chapter 11 plan seems to have no end in sight, with a group of insurers protesting the flooring company's plan on the grounds that it favors some asbestos claimants above others.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kathryn Ferguson had scheduled a conference Monday to allow insurers, including Financial Corp.,Travelers Cos. and Employers Insurance, to air their grievances , the Wall Street Journal reported.

Though Congoleum has buried the hatchet with a few insurers, others have complained about the company's 12th proposed...
