Tenn. Officials Fight UAW Subpoenas In VW Union Vote Row

Law360, New York (April 18, 2014, 3:48 PM EDT) -- Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and other state officials on Thursday asked the National Labor Relations Board to revoke subpoenas the United Auto Workers issued as part of its bid to get the labor board to order a new representation vote at Volkswagen AG's Chattanooga, Tenn., plant.

The subpoenas issued by the UAW to 20 Tennessee officials sought documents related to the union in the lead-up to the February representation election at the plant that the union lost by a 712-626 vote. The union is asking the NLRB to set aside the vote, claiming that even though Volkswagen Group of America agreed to remain neutral...
