Police Not Entitled To Pay For Prep Time: Court

Law360, New York (April 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Police officers for the city of Mesa, Ariz., are not entitled to be paid for the time they spend donning and removing their uniforms and protective gear, a federal judge ruled Monday, granting the city's motion for summary judgment.

Judge Neil Wake of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona accepted the city's argument that police officers were not entitled to compensation for something they could do at home.
