Pfizer, Plaintiffs Spar Over Evidence

Law360, New York (April 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- With the first trial in the multidistrict litigation over Pfizer's arthritis drugs Celebrex and Bextra on the horizon, both sides have filed motions seeking to limit the scope of evidence about Pfizer's corporate conduct that will be allowed at trial.

The lead plaintiff in the case, Beverly Haslam, filed suit on behalf of her husband, whose fatal heart attack was allegedly brought on by taking Bextra. Her motion asks the court to block Pfizer from presenting evidence about its good reputation and charitable work at trial....
