Judge Confirms $23.4M Award Against Magnetek

Law360, New York (April 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has confirmed a $23.4 million arbitration award against digital power systems provider Magnetek Inc., which was accused by inventor Ole K. Nilssen of infringing his patents on electronic lighting ballasts.

In an opinion issued Wednesday, Judge Samuel Der-Yeghiayan of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois rejected Magnetek's argument that the arbitration award was obtained by fraud.
