Reporting Changes Loom For Mutual Funds: SEC

Law360, New York (February 16, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The mutual fund industry could soon see dramatic changes in the way it reports financial results to investors, with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission considering several proposals for beefing up disclosure requirements.

The regulator’s goals represent a virtual overhaul of mutual fund disclosures to streamline fund prospectuses and “democratize” financial information, according to SEC general counsel Brian G. Cartwright.
