Keds Says Vans Infringing Trademark Blue Label On Heel

Law360, Los Angeles (May 8, 2014, 7:47 PM EDT) -- Keds LLC hit rival shoemaker Vans Inc. with a suit in Massachusetts federal court, accusing at least 21 Vans shoes of infringing Keds' trademark blue label on the heels of its sneakers.

Keds claims that not only are Vans’ labels substantially similar to Keds’, but the shoes violate a 2012 settlement agreement in similar litigation over the trademarks. Keds sued Vans in 2011 alleging trademark infringement, trademark dilution and unfair competition.
