U.K. Judge Slams Allen & Overy For RIM Legal Fees

Law360, New York (April 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A United Kingdom court judge has lambasted Allen & Overy LLP for racking up £5.2 million ($10.32 million) in fees during its successful defense of Research In Motion Ltd. against Visto Corp. and refused to grant the law firm its fee request.

Lord Justice Timothy A.W. Lloyd of the United Kingdom's High Court of Justice said the excessive costs in a five-day trial over Blackberry smart-phone patents were “unnecessary and unreasonable.”
