Seiko Epson Sues Again Over Ink Cartridge Patents

Law360, New York (February 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Japan’s Seiko Epson Co. has stepped up its crusade to enforce lucrative patents for its printer ink cartridges, suing 24 companies before the U.S. International Trade Commission and in Oregon federal court.

The lawsuit, filed by Seiko Epson, Epson America Inc., and Epson Portland Inc., alleges breach of technology and design patents by 24 firms that manufacture, import, or distribute aftermarket ink cartridges for resale in the United States.
