Supplement Co.'s $2M Suit Says Marketer Stole Trade Secrets

By Alex Lawson (May 19, 2014, 1:30 PM EDT) -- A dietary supplement maker on Friday hit its former marketing partner with a stinging lawsuit in California court, seeking at least $2 million in damages for allegedly stealing trade secrets and other proprietary information to divert business to a competitor and flouting numerous terms of their contract.

In its suit, Lepton Labs LLC claims online marketer W4 LLC crafted a scheme to steer customers from Lepton's AllDaySlim supplement in an effort to boost the sales of a competing supplement called SlimBlastFast shortly after the two parties entered into an agreement that made W4 the sole promoter of Lepton's product.
