Olympic Logo Embroils Beijing Organizer in Dispute over Trademark

Law360, New York (December 7, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- The emblem for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games has embroiled the organizer in a legal dispute with a firm that has applied for a similar design patent, Chinese state news agency Xinhua News reported.

The Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Olympic Games has registered the trademark for “Dancing Beijing,” as the logo is known, in China and abroad, but neglected to apply for the layout design patent of the emblem.
