Stryker Faces Barrage Of Suits Over Hip Implant Corrosion

Law360, New York (May 23, 2014, 7:24 PM EDT) -- Stryker Corp. was hit with at least five new lawsuits in New Jersey court Tuesday claiming the company failed to adequately warn that one of its hip implant products when combined with a component part could corrode and cause severe metal toxicity in patients.

The suits in Bergen County Superior Court that West Palm Beach, Florida-based Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley PA filed on behalf of patients against Stryker subsidiary Howmedica Osteonics Corp. target the company's Accolade TMZF hip stem and LFIT anatomic V40 femoral head.
