Defying Trend, More Securities Class Actions Go To Trial

Law360, New York (February 22, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- More securities class actions are going to trial, surprising attorneys who are used to seeing such cases settled discreetly outside the courtroom.

Last year, two class action suits were tried to verdict, and at least three more settled midtrial. Although five cases can hardly be considered a rush to the courtroom, the trend is clear: more cases are now making their way into the courtroom.
