Yahoo-Google Experiment Attracts Antitrust Scrutiny

Law360, New York (April 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has opened an investigation into Yahoo Inc. and Google Inc.'s two-week cooperation trial, which tests Yahoo's search engine in conjunction with Google's AdSense, because it may be running afoul of antitrust laws.

Yahoo and Google said the test would not necessarily lead to any further commercial relationship between the companies, though Yahoo has said it would explore potential business arrangements to maximize stockholder value.
