Amsurg Pays $2.35B For PE-Backed Sheridan Healthcare

Law360, New York (May 29, 2014, 1:27 PM EDT) -- Ambulatory surgery center operator Amsurg Corp. will pay $2.35 billion to acquire private equity-owned physician outsourcing company Sheridan Healthcare from California-based Hellman & Friedman LLC in a cash and stock deal, the companies said Thursday.

The agreement to purchase Florida-based Sheridan, the country's leading anesthesia services provider, was approved by the boards of both companies, and is expected to close in the third quarter this year following regulatory approval, the companies said in a statement.
