NYC Hit With $172M Verdict In Negligent EMT Suit

Law360, New York (May 30, 2014, 5:35 PM EDT) -- New York City must pay $172 million to the mother of a girl who suffered brain damage after she was allegedly given subpar care by emergency medical technicians, a Bronx jury said Wednesday.

The case revolves around the care provided to Tiffany Applewhite, who was 12 in 1998 and suffered from an eye condition that required the intravenous administration of a prescribed medication.
