Barbie, Bratz Copyright Dispute Far From Over

Law360, New York (April 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After a slew of summary judgment rulings, the copyright dispute between Barbie maker Mattel Inc., Bratz doll manufacturer MGA Entertainment Inc. and former Mattel employee Carter Bryant seems no closer to resolution.

Judge Stephen G. Larson of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California issued a ruling Friday that granted Mattel’s summary judgment motions, as well as some sought by MGA and Bryant, while also denying some motions by the Bratz maker.
