By David McAfee (June 5, 2014, 9:09 PM EDT) -- A Maryland federal judge on Thursday partially granted a patent licensing company's bid to remand to state court a $570 million lawsuit against Boston Scientific Corp. over an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, finding Thursday that removal to district court was untimely.

Mirowski Family Ventures LLC sued Boston Scientific — which had licensed multiple ICD patents from inventor Dr. Michel Mirowski — for allegedly striking a secret deal to settle six suits against St. Jude Medical Inc. for purportedly infringing the patents, in exchange for St. Jude's dropping the claims it had filed against Boston Scientific.
