Samsung & Sprint Escape GPS Trial With Settlement

Law360, New York (February 27, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Opting to settle rather than go to trial, telecommunications giants Samsung Electronics Co. and Sprint Nextel Corp. have put an end to a long-standing patent infringement lawsuit brought against them by New York-based engineering company ITT Industries Inc. over Global Positioning System technology.

ITT announced the settlement on Friday, though the company refused to reveal any details of the arrangement.
