Supreme Court Lets Rosa Parks Sue Rap Duo

Law360 (December 8, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court refused to intervene in a lawsuit filed by civil rights icon Rosa Parks against the rap duo OutKast and others over a song with her name as its title.

The justices let stand a U.S. appeals court ruling that reinstated Parks' false advertising and publicity claims against OutKast and three Bertelsmann AG units – record producer LaFace Records as well as distributors Arista Records and BMG Entertainment, the distributors.
