DOJ Probes MasterCard Regarding Antitrust Judgment

Law360, New York (April 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has asked MasterCard Inc. for information relating to a possible violation of the final judgment in an antitrust case the department originally filed against MasterCard and Visa International Corp. in 1998.

The department's Antitrust Division issued a civil investigative demand to MasterCard on Feb. 25, according to the form 10-Q Mastercard filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday.
