Investigators Slam IRS Over Lost Emails In Scandal Probe

Law360, New York (June 16, 2014, 4:14 PM EDT) -- Congressional investigators were fuming on Monday after the Internal Revenue Service announced it had lost years' worth of emails from alleged political-targeting honcho Lois Lerner.

In a Friday afternoon announcement, the agency said a computer crash had caused the loss of emails requested by congressional investigators, who were probing why the agency seems to have targeted conservative groups for audits based on their political beliefs.
