Hartford Wants Out Of Nuke Plant Crane Collapse Coverage

Law360, New York (June 17, 2014, 1:27 PM EDT) -- Hartford Casualty Insurance Co. on Monday asked a federal judge to find it has no duty to defend a Texas engineering company in litigation over its allegedly negligent handling of a large crane that fell down at an Arkansas nuclear power plant and killed a man.

Hartford, along with Hartford Lloyds Insurance Co., said DP Engineering LLC’s policies contain exclusions for bodily injury and property damage that absolve the insurers from any responsibility to provide coverage in five underlying lawsuits over the accident.
