Fla. OKs Energy Law But Delays Tailpipe Provision

Law360, New York (May 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Florida lawmakers have passed a new energy bill aimed at increasing renewable energy and energy efficiency while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but holding off on tighter standards for tailpipe emissions.

The state Senate approved House Bill 7135 by a 39-1 vote Wednesday, a day after the legislation passed unanimously in the House. Legislators hailed the initiative as a step toward making Florida a national leader in addressing climate change.
