Judge OKs Trade Secret Claim In UNIX Software Suit

Law360, New York (May 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has kept alive a trade secrets case, complete with counterclaims of predatory pricing, that software company Syncsort Inc. brought against rival Innovative Routines International Inc. over technology that allows users to translate programming language for Syncsort's UNIX software application.

U.S. District Judge William H. Walls of the District of New Jersey issued a ruling Wednesday denying IRI's motion for summary judgment on Syncsort's trade secret misappropriation and unfair competition claims but granting summary judgment on three remaining claims.
