2nd Circuit Plugs Long Island Pipeline Project

Law360, New York (May 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a blow to Islander East Pipeline Co., an appeals court refused Friday to reconsider a decision by the Connecticut environmental agency to deny a water-quality permit for a proposed natural-gas pipeline under Long Island Sound.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit's ruling lets stand a December 2006 decision by the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection to deny a water-quality permit for the project. This is the second time the CTDEP has blocked the project.
