Appeals Court Nixes LNG Permit Case Against States

Law360, New York (May 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has dismissed a complaint by Weaver's Cove Energy LLC against environmental authorities in Rhode Island and Massachusetts over the company's plans to build a liquefied natural gas facility in Fall River, Mass.

Judges with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ruled Friday that Weaver's Cove lacked standing to bring the petition because it had not demonstrated that the states had caused the company any injury.
