Despite AIG Appeal, Greenberg Granted Access To Report

Law360, New York (March 1, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- American International Group’s attempt to block former CEO Maurice Greenberg from gaining access to internal documents has failed, after a judge denied the insurance company’s request to delay turning over financial reports.

New York Supreme Court Justice Charles E. Ramos ruled that AIG must allow Greenberg access to the documents, prepared in conjunction with the company’s restatement of five years of earnings.

A state appellate court also denied AIG’s request to withhold the document while it appeals Ramos’ decision.
