Volume-Control Infringement Suit Blasts TV Makers

Law360, New York (May 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Sony Electronics Inc., Panasonic Corp. of North America, Philips Electronics North America Corp. and several other major television manufacturers have been zapped with a patent infringement lawsuit over technology that maintains equal volume levels for different television channels.

Patent-holding company International Control Systems LLC filed the suit on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas against 11 of the world’s largest television makers.
