Telstra Ends Fight Over 'Misleading' Next G Ads

Law360 (May 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Australian telecommunications giant Telstra has given up its fight against the country's consumer watchdog over “misleading” statements about the efficacy of its Next G cell phone coverage, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said Wednesday.

The company withdrew its appeal against a 2007 Australian federal court ruling that it had misled its customers about Next G coverage by saying the Next G network had equal or better coverage than its CDMA network. The statement was contradicted by subsequent ACCC reports.
