Coudert Retirees' Suit Moved To Bankruptcy Court

Law360, New York (May 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A lawsuit by 24 retirees from Coudert Brothers against former managing members and law firms that took over pieces of the defunct international law firm has been transferred to bankruptcy court.

Judge Gerard E. Lynch of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York referred the $20 million suit to the bankruptcy court as an adversary proceeding because of its relation to Coudert Brothers' Chapter 11 case. The firm is expected to file a liquidation plan soon.
