DuPont Finds Groundwater Polluted By Teflon Chemical

Law360, New York (May 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. submitted a report to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection this week, confirming that chemical residues feared to be carcinogenic have turned up in the groundwater near its Deepwater, N.J., facility at 35 times the alert level set by the state last year.

DuPont has been monitoring nine wells around its Chambers Works plant since 2005 at the request of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
