Barr Eyes Mid-2008 Launch For Generic Yasmin

Law360, New York (May 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Barr Laboratories Inc.'s bid for U.S. food and Drug Administration approval to make and market a generic version of Bayer Schering Pharma AG's oral birth control product Yasmin has been approved, and the company plans to launch its copycat contraceptive in mid-2008, according to Barr.

News of the FDA's approval of Barr’s abbreviated new drug application follows an earnings release in which the company said it would launch its own version of Yasmin in mid-2008.
