Exxon Wants $800M For Failed Point Thomson Plan

Law360, New York (May 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Exxon Mobil Corp. is demanding $800 million in damages from the state of Alaska for rejecting its plans to develop a natural gas field on the state's North Slope.

In documents filed with the Alaska Department of Natural Resources on Monday, the company asked Alaska to compensate it for the breach of contract that occurred when state officials revoked Exxon Mobil's lease on the Point Thomson oil field.
