Asarco Parent Reopens Bitter Discovery Dispute

Law360, New York (May 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Asarco LLC's corporate parent, which is looking to bid on most of the bankrupt copper mining company's assets as it moves toward a Chapter 11 exit, has renewed its demand that Asarco LLC produce reams of documents relating to the upcoming asset auction.

Asarco Inc. filed an emergency motion Monday asking the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas to approve its second formal request for production well before a final hearing to confirm the bidding procedures.
