Natl. Semiconductor Sued Over Circuit Design Tools

Law360, New York (May 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Chip maker National Semiconductor Corp. has been hit with a lawsuit alleging that its WEBENCH online circuit design tools infringe a patent owned by eTool Patent Holdings Corp.

The suit was filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas by Wilmington, Del.-based eTool Development Inc. and subsidiary eTool Patent Holdings. The complaint asks the court for relief including treble damages, a permanent injunction barring National Semiconductor from infringing the patent in suit and attorneys' fees.
