Russia Consumer Agency Sues To Ban McDonald's Burgers

Law360, Los Angeles (July 25, 2014, 4:09 PM EDT) -- The Russian consumer safety regulator said on Friday it was calling on a Moscow court to stop McDonald's Corp. from making some of its most popular menu items, accusing the company of reporting incorrect nutritional information to its customers and potentially exposing them to E. coli.

Rospotrebnadzor, the Russian government agency responsible for enforcing health and safety regulations, said on Friday that inspections at two restaurants revealed traces of E. coli, the bacteria that can cause food poisoning, in Caesar wraps and salads, according to a translated statement from the agency.
