United Forks Out $335 Million In Legal Fees

Law360, New York (March 10, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Being at the epicenter of one of the biggest bankruptcy meltdowns in aviation history will apparently cost United Airlines over $335 million in legal fees, with an enormous chunk of the tab going to the law firm of Kirkland & Ellis LLC.

Court documents show that the Chicago-based law firm will apparently reap nearly $100 million in legal fees due to its lead role in navigating the beleaguered airline through the choppy waters of Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
