Judge Blasts Parties For Delay In Guidant MDL

Law360, New York (May 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A dispute over how to carry out the terms of the master settlement agreement in the multidistrict litigation against Boston Scientific Corp. over Guidant's implantable defibrillators has led to the court faulting the parties for wasting time, generating unnecessary fees and a lack of coordination.

U.S. District Judge Donovan W. Frank entered an order Friday extending the deadline for filing settlement releases on behalf of deceased device recipients until Sept. 1. Judge Frank left a May 19 deadline in place for all living claimants.
