Ex-Assent Exec Gets Probation For Insider Trading

Law360, New York (May 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A former compliance officer with Assent LLC has been sentenced to two years' probation after admitting his role in what has been described as the most pervasive Wall Street insider trading scam in history.

The onetime brokerage worker, Laurence McKeever, was also fined $3,000 and ordered by U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska of the Southern District of New York to forfeit $30,000 in ill-gotten profits.
