Fla. Widow's $100M Copter Crash Suit Booted To Bahamas

By Carolina Bolado (August 25, 2014, 5:05 PM EDT) -- A Florida state judge on Monday dismissed a $100 million suit against billionaire developer Jeffrey Soffer over the death of a prominent Miami tax attorney in a Bahamas helicopter crash, ruling that the wrongful death claims should be brought in the Bahamas.

In a ruling from the bench, Circuit Judge Daryl Trawick said Daria Pastouhkova Gogoleva's suit over the death of tax attorney Lance Valdez "is more appropriately brought in the Bahamas as opposed to Florida."

The judge also dismissed Gogoleva's fraudulent inducement counts claiming that Soffer and the three other surviving members of the crash conspired to hide the fact...
