Medtronic Wins $250M From Boston Scientific

Law360 (May 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A jury has found that Boston Scientific Corp. infringed three Medtronic Inc. patents covering angioplasty catheters and balloons and awarded Medtronic $250 million in damages, but Boston Scientific is challenging the verdict, saying it isn't supported by evidence or the law.

On Tuesday, the jury in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas found that certain Boston Scientific balloon catheters and stent delivery systems encroached on the patents, and that those patents were not invalid.
