Famed Restaurant Coming To Terms With EEOC

Law360, New York (May 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Renowned New York City restaurant Tavern on the Green and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission appear to have reached a settlement in a case alleging that female workers were subjected to racial and sexual discrimination.

Counsel for the two sides said on Thursday at a settlement conference in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York that they had struck a $2.2 million deal with about $630,000 of that going to employee Martha Nyakim Gatkuoth. The remainder would go to other alleged...
