Refco Confirms Role Of Consulting Firm

Law360, New York (March 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The role of FTI Consulting Inc. in the bankruptcy of Refco Inc. has been adjusted to account for a potential conflict of interest by the law firm Latham & Watkins LLP.

FTI, which was named as Refco’s electronic evidence consultant, began benefiting from the bankruptcy after Refco’s October 2005 filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The creditor’s committee first applied for court approval of FTI’s services in December, but it quickly led to objections.
