Oxford Gene Sues BioArray Over BeadChip Patent

Law360 (May 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a biotechnology battle, Oxford Gene Technology Ltd. has accused BioArray Solutions Ltd. of willfully infringing three of its patents related to technology that enables the analysis and diagnosis of cells with a silicon chip.

OGT, which is part-owned by its eponymous university, sued Warren, N.J.-based BioArray Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.

The British biotech asserted three patents, demanding trebled damages with prejudgment interest, permanent injunctive relief and attorneys fees' and costs.
