Fleming Can't Shake Sanctions Order In Enron Case

Law360 (June 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has not completely let Fleming & Associates LLP off the hook from a 2006 sanctions order stemming from its role as plaintiffs counsel in a consolidated case against Enron Corp.’s former outside directors.

On Friday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit vacated a district court’s judgment requiring Fleming to pay about $15,000 in compensatory attorneys’ fees to the outside directors’ counsel in light of their settlement. But the court refused to scrap the entire sanctions order.
