NY Awards $94M To Spur Large-Scale Solar Investment

Law360, New York (September 26, 2014, 1:15 PM EDT) -- New York State on Friday announced $94 million in awards that will significantly expand the state's generation capacity from large-scale solar projects, an area where the state has experienced lagging growth but where the Cuomo administration now sees better conditions.

The new capacity, planned for 142 project sites, was obtained through the sun-setting New York State Energy Research and Development Authority's Competitive PV program. Next year, large-scale development will fold into the recently announced statewide NY-Sun Incentive Program.

The funding "will dramatically increase our capacity to generate and utilize solar energy across the state," Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a statement....
