NASD Promotes James Shorris As Executive VP, Enforcement Head

Law360, New York (March 23, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- After nearly 10 years at the helm, National Association of Securities Dealers Executive Vice President and Head of Enforcement Barry Goldsmith is being replaced by Senior Vice President and Deputy Head of Enforcement James S. Shorris, the NASD announced this week.

Shorris, a veteran securities law practitioner, joined the NASD in November 2003.

He has been responsible for the operational management of the Enforcement Department as well as developing and implementing enforcement policy and overseeing investigations and litigation.
