Laid-Off Public Defenders Sue Atlanta Under Title VII

Law360 (June 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Five former public defenders for the city of Atlanta have filed a federal civil rights suit claiming they were chosen for layoffs last year because of their race and gender.

The five black women are representing themselves in the suit filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
